Weeroona

This organisation assists people with physical disabilities aged 21 and under.

The association’s geographic area of charter reaches from the Hawkesbury River to Taree, and west to the Shires of Muswellbrook, Scone and Merriwa. Weeroona assists the young people to access services and equipment including: mobility aids, incontinence aids, educational aids, therapies, fares for long-term medical treatment, academic and sporting scholarships. The organisation can also help by offering information on therapy, respite services, counseling, advocacy and family support groups. They also have two purpose-built holiday units providing affordable accommodation for members and their families. The units are located at Port Stephens and Foster and have been designed with widened doorways and turning area for wheelchairs, no steps and purpose built bathrooms.
